The Treasures of Southern Morocco
From Fez to the Sahara via the Ziz Valley
Your tour begins in Fez, from where you will head south.
You will cross the majestic landscapes of the Middle Atlas, passing through Ifrane, nicknamed the “Moroccan Little Switzerland.”
Ifrane is an astonishing city, distinguished by its Alpine-style architecture, lush green landscapes, and cool climate, offering a complete change of scenery from traditional images of Morocco. You will make a stop in Morocco’s largest cedar forest near Azrou, before continuing towards the magnificent Ziz Valley.
Arrival in Merzouga where you will be welcomed with a glass of mint tea.
Dinner and overnight stay in a Riad in Merzouga.
Mezouga Hike, Desert Adventure
This day is dedicated to exploring the desert. You will start with a visit to the village of Khamlia to discover the Gnawa culture and music. You will then enjoy a delicious Berber pizza before heading to Rissani,
Rissani, formerly known as Sijilmassa, holds deep historical roots as a major caravan center during the Middle Ages, controlling the lucrative trans-Saharan trade routes. It is famously regarded as the cradle of the Alaouite Dynasty, the current ruling family of Morocco, with the revered Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif, the dynasty’s founder, located there. renowned for its souks and fortified ksars.
The ultimate experience awaits you at the end of the day:
a camel ride to witness the sunset over the dunes.
You will spend the night under the stars in a nomad camp.
Dinner and overnight stay in the desert.


Todgha Gorges and Dades Valley
Early wake-up call to admire the sunrise over the dunes.
After breakfast, you will leave the desert to explore the impressive Todgha Gorges, where majestic limestone cliffs, carved by the Todgha River, rise up to 300 to 400 meters high, creating a narrow and breathtaking canyon. The bottom of the gorge is home to a lush Oasis and a green palm grove, offering a spectacular contrast with the steep, ochre rock faces.
You will then continue to the Dades Valley, driving along the famous “Road of a Thousand Kasbahs.” Admire the unique landscapes and stunning rock formations, before spending the night in a Riad in the heart of the valley.

Aït Benhaddou & the High Atlas towards Marrakesh
The last day of the tour takes you through the « Valley of Roses, » then to the famous Kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, a fortified village classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site and a setting for many films.
The road continues through the Tizi N’Tichka pass, offering panoramic views of the High Atlas mountains. Before arriving in Marrakesh, you will make a final stop to visit a Berber women’s cooperative that produces the famous argan oil.
Transfer to your Riad or to the Marrakesh airport.
