Desert Mirages

From Marrakech to the Gates of the Desert

Your journey begins in Marrakech.

After crossing the High Atlas Mountains, you will visit
the magnificent Aït-Benhaddou Kasbah, a fortified village classified as a World Heritage Site.
The road continues through the sublime Drâa Valley, famous for its palm groves and ancient kasbahs.

A cultural stop awaits you in Tamgroute, with the discovery of its Koranic library and pottery workshops. Your first night will be spent at the entrance to the desert, in M’Hamid.

Dinner and overnight stay at a Riad in M’Hamid.

Trek in the Heart of the Sahara

The next few days will be dedicated to an unforgettable trek. Accompanied by a guide and camel drivers, you will explore the desert on foot or on camelback.

  • Day 2: Trek toward the Rase Nkhal oasis, a peaceful haven shaded by palm trees. Your journey continues to Sidi Naji,
a sacred site for nomads, where you will spend your first night under the starry sky.

  • Day 3: Continue your path into the vastness of the Sahara. After a refreshing break in the shade of the tamarisks, you will reach the majestic Erg Zahar dunes. Climb to the top to admire a breathtaking sunset, and spend a magical night amidst the dunes.

  • Day 4: Continue your exploration of the sandy and stony desert to Kraayat Jmal, a landscape of extraordinary beauty. A new night under the stars awaits you, far from everything.

  • Day 5: Enjoy a last sunrise in the desert before returning to M’Hamid. Your trek concludes in the afternoon, and you will spend the night at a hotel to rest.

Back to Marrakech

After a final breakfast in M’Hamid, you will head back towards Marrakech. You will cross the unique landscapes of Agdz and Ouarzazate, bringing this unforgettable adventure to a close.

If time allows, visit the Red City. The Koutoubia Mosque is the spiritual emblem of the city, dominating the skyline with its minaret. The Medina, the historic heart, is a vibrant labyrinth of colorful souks and craftsmanship. Jemaa el-Fna square is the animated soul of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where storytellers and musicians meet.

The Bahia Palace offers sumptuous architecture and soothing gardens, illustrating the wealth of the past. Finally, the serenity
of the Majorelle Gardens contrasts with the city’s hustle, offering a blue and botanical oasis.
